SAINT ANNA BEACH HOUSE
Saint Anna Beach House is 50m away from the sea, in the charming suburb of Hannasbaai in St Helena Bay. Laze your days away on the downstairs stoep/ patio or on the upstairs balcony with a book from our little library. The space is open and airy and double volumes with stacking doors allow the outside in.
When first started out we wanted to create a very basic beach hut. This evolved as we went along and now special touches like an indoor fireplace/braai, warm outdoor shower, handmade macrame basket chairs and simplistic decor touches are adding value. Our crockery and cutlery are individual finds from fleamarkets, vintage stores, friends’ and family’s cupboards. We pride ourselves that things don’t really match in the kitchen while still keeping it elegant.
Guests book the entire house for their private use.

Policies
General
We love our beach house and hope that you will love it too. Please treat it with the same respect that you would treat your own home.
We live sustainably and Mother Nature will be eternally thankful if you make use of the bins that are provided for the rubbish and the bucket that is for the ashes of the braai area. Please do not throw this in the field as this is a fire hazard.
- All fishy waste, like prawns, fish, mussels, and crayfish goes back to the ocean. The birds, fish, and crabs can nibble on this and it does not smell in the bins.
- On Thursdays, the Municipality comes to collect the rubbish. Please leave the green bin outside for the day if you are there and return it to the side of the house when it was emptied.
- No smoking is allowed in the house or on the balcony.
- Please wash your dirty dishes and pots in the dishwasher the morning of your departure.
- Clean fireplace every night to prevent the smoky smell from hanging around in the house until the next morning. Do not scatter the ash outside. Let the ash cool, and sweep it up into the metal container.
- Please don’t leave personal belongings or towels outside during the night.
- If you booked via a booking platform, note that we make use of a “gentleman’s agreement” for any damage or loss that occurs during your stay, instead of charging a breakage deposit. Guests are responsible to reimburse the owner accordingly.
- We do allow pets with a once-off pet fee with permission.
- This is a residential area, no loud music or noise before 8 am and after 10 pm.
Animal Policy
You are no doubt a conscientious animal owner and the following rules apply:
The property is not fenced, please keep an eye on your dogs as we have neighbours with dogs. (If both the smaller side gates are closed on the side of the house your pet will be enclosed in the back garden section but it is really small and we don’t encourage this).
Bring your own poop bags and deposit this in the green bin outside the house – the beach will look like a giant sandbox to your pets.
There is a lovely space underneath the staircase for a dog bed, water, and food bowl.
If your dog is a couch sitter like ours, please bring your own blanket and cover the furniture first before use.
We include a dark grey throw to protect your bed and white linen, as well as furniture, against muddy paws.
If your pet gets separation anxiety please don’t leave it alone inside while you are out and about – we will be charging for any torn couches, pillows and similar damages.
Dogs (and humans) get sandy after a beach walk and we encourage you to use the warm water shower on the outside of the house to get rid of sandy paws and feet.
